William O. Treat, 96, passed away Friday, June 28, 2013, at home in Keller. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Wednesday in Grandview Cemetery, Johnstown, Pa. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please send donations in memory of Bill Treat to
. William was born Sept. 16, 1916, in Carnegie, Pa., the son of the late Merle and Josephine Treat. Bill served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1945-1949 as a sergeant first class crew chief in the Asian Pacific during World War II
. He was a graduate of Purdue University
and retired from Bethlehem Steel as a metallurgical engineer in 1975. Above all, he was a loving father and husband and was devoted to his family. Bill was a longtime member serving in the Westmont Presbyterian Church congregation. Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille, whom he married in September 1951; parents; several siblings; and granddaughter, Christina Nobrega. Survivors: Children, Lawrence Treat (Joan) of Richland, Pa., and Joanne Colyer (Neal) of Keller; grandchildren, David and Monica Nobrega, Michael and Brian Colyer, Jennifer Sutton; and great-grandchildren, Daniel Nobrega, Hayden, Maddie and Brianna Sutton.
