William R. "Bill" Woodard, 69, a professional salesman, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014. Memorial service: Will be held at a future date, to be announced. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of North Texas, directed to cat adoptions. Bill was born Feb. 14, 1945, in Sedalia, Mo. His family moved to Bakersfield, Calif., after the war. In 1952 they moved to Fort Worth, where his father became a partner in Lubrications Engineers. Bill served his country during the Vietnam War
, rising to the rank of sergeant in the Air Force. Bill's life changed when he met his darling future wife, Dian. They would have been married 30 years in December. Dian was the love of his life; he only wanted to be by her side and take care of her. Bill's second love was his customers and his business, Woodard Industrial Supply Co. He was always playing practical jokes on people and loved to laugh. He would help anyone in need, especially any little furry friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Kathryn Woodard. Survivors: Wife, Robin Dian Crowell Woodard; son, William J. Woodard and wife, Andrea, of Fort Worth; daughter, Kay Hotz and husband, Todd, of Austin; sister, Cindy Kay Smith and husband, Daryl, of Colleyville; grandsons, Austin and William Hotz and Townes Woodard; uncle, Don Woodard and wife, Wanda; several cousins; and many loving friends.
