William Robert "Bill/Bob" Bailey, 67, of Willow Park since 2008, retired U.S. Army
first sergeant, formerly of Bakersfield, Calif., passed away on Friday, Sept. 13, 2013. His lung cancer metastasized to the brain and he has been receiving treatments which caused many complications. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Westworth Church of Christ with Minister Bob Mullen officiating. The military graveside service/interment will take place in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City within a couple of months. . He was born Oct. 7, 1945, in Grandfield, Okla., son of the late Winfred R. and June Bailey. William "Bill/Bob" proudly served our country in the Army for over 26 years. He especially enjoyed his eight years as a drill sergeant and eight years as a first sergeant. He also enjoyed playing golf with friends and loved traveling around the country with his wife and four-legged kids in his RV. Survivors: His wife of 23 years, Irene Kim; daughter and son-in-law, Jeanette and Greg Brooks of Atlanta, Ga.; daughter, Christine Bailey of Atlanta, Ga.; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Rhonda of Bakersfield, Calif.; stepchildren, Naomi and Joseph P. Fernandez of California; grandchild, Jade; stepgrandchild, Trey; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Ed Hardy of Ada, Okla.; sister, Sandy Stevens of Joshua Tree, Calif.; and other family and friends.
