Wyatt Duke Lipscomb Jr., 89, of North Richland Hills and formerly of Odessa, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2014, at a care center. Graveside service: 2 p.m. Saturday, March 8, in Roscoe Cemetery near Roscoe, with the Rev. Brian Brownlow officiating under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater. He lived in Odessa from 1960 to 2005 and in North Richland Hills since then. He married Wanda Jean Heine on Aug. 5, 1949, in Roscoe. He was a longtime member of Highland Park United Methodist Church in Odessa. He graduated from Texas A&M University
in 1949 and was employed by the federal government in the soil conservation industry, retiring after 25 years of service. He was a veteran of U.S. Air Force
during World War II
. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Jean Lipscomb, on May 9, 1986; his parents, Duke and Margarite "Pete" Lipscomb; and his in-laws, Herman and Pauline Heine. Survivors: Daughter, Gayle Romeros and husband, Michael, of North Richland Hills; son, Gary Lipscomb and Bob Heath of Arlington; grandson, Sean Lipscomb and wife, Lindsey, of Mansfield; great-grandchildren, Grace and Pieper Lipscomb of Mansfield; step grandchildren, Laurel and Connor Romeros of Galveston; and friend, Nina Crowder of Odessa.
