Alfredo Jimenez Obituary
Service: Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Public viewing will be 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Rosary: 7 p.m. Thursday in Greenwood Chapel.
Al was born July 9, 1949, in Del Rio. He graduated from Del Rio High School. He and his family moved to Fort Worth in 1969. Al was a graduate of Tarrant County Junior College and he also attended Dallas Baptist University, where he received his bachelor's degree. Al retired from IBM after 22 years of service and also worked with various companies like HP, ACS and EMC Corp. as an information technology manager consultant.
Music and dancing were part of his living soul. His hobbies were DJing, working on his 1969 SS Chevelle and working out in his spare time.
Al was also involved in the children's baseball, which he helped coach, from Little League through high school. He had the privilege to take them to the All Star Playoffs.
The family would like to thank American Hospice with a special thanks to Glen and his staff.
Al was preceded in death by his brother, Bruno Jimenez; and father, Alfredo S. Jimenez Sr.
Survivors: His loving wife of over 41 years, Leticia R. Jimenez; sons, Alfredo "Fred" Jimenez III and wife, Donna, Jose "Joe" Luis Jimenez and wife, Mable, and Mark R. Jimenez; daughter, Jennifer Torres and husband, Ricky; loving grandchildren, Paul Stephen, Vanessa, Jay Ryan, Joey Jr., Marky, Megan, Jordan, Bryan, Ricky Jr. and Emma; mother, Aurora Jimenez; sisters, Elvira Rodriguez and husband, Rico, Esmeralda Cantu and husband, Richard, Maria Santiago and husband, Rafael, and Nina Gonzales and husband, Alex; sister-in-law, Graciela Jimenez; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

I would like to give my deepest Condolences to the Jimenez family. I first Met Al as a neighbor. I soon became a friend to his giving personality and always positive attitude. My family owes a debt of gratitude to Al for donating (he wouldn’t except payment) for DJ'ing at Two of my daughters weddings.
He was the most generous man I’ve ever known (to a fault). I will greatly miss our sometimes hour long conversations about all things on this planet. He was a very passionate man and as fine a man as I have ever known.

I cannot express the heartfelt sorrow my family and I felt when we heard of Al's passing. Although, we were aware of the eventual outcome from our last
conversations together, it is still painful. Our prayers are with all of the family and friends during this difficult time.
I use the word passing because our faith tells us we will be together again as death is just a passing for us. I rejoice that you are no longer in pain and with our glorious lord.
