Sarge, Still think about you and miss ya. I can't believe that it has been this long. It still seems like just yesterday when you and I were carousing all over the place until they kicked us out in the wee hours of the morning. Then we would show up at The DEA Lab bright eyed and bushy tailed at 8:00 am every morning and start all over again. I guess that goes back to your military days and my old crazy cop days. I still remember all your council, guidance and big brother wisdom that you blessed me with. I wish that I had had that in my younger days.

Family: I wrote this in the first person as if Sarge were still with us. He is still with me, in my heart, mind and soul. I just wanted to share this with you. I am still with DEA, starting to think about retirement.

Bennie Springer "Sarge'
When Sarge joined The DEA South Cental Laboratory as an Evidence Technician, our evidence vault was inefficient and chaotic. Ben brought his great military organizational skills and expertise to clean it up. He brought that vault up to DEA standards and in compliance with the written manual (no small task). He was my friend, like a big brother, with friendship guidance and counsel. Thank you Sarge.

May God bless you and your family during this difficult time. It has been four years since my father passed away, I still miss him very much and you will always miss your Dad. Just know, that with time and God's help, you will look back and remember all of the wonderful memories of your life with him. Your friends will be here to support you and I hope that you consider me to be one.
