Murray Schultz Obituary

Murray W. Schultz, 84, died peacefully at home Sunday, May 8, 2011, in Arlington. He was a lifelong faithful Lutheran. Funeral: 2 p.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church, 210 W. Park Row, Arlington. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Moore Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family invites Murray's friends to celebrate his life by contributing to the LCMS Joint Seminary Fund (JSF) or the American Diabetes Association. Murray was born to William and Martha Schultz on July 28, 1926, in Langenburg, Saskatchewan, Canada. The family later moved to Chicago, Ill. In 1945 he wed Annebell Neely. The couple was blessed with one child but later divorced. In the early 1950s, Murray relocated to the Texas Panhandle where he worked as an oil and gas pumper. In 1954, he married Elinor Gindorf and they were blessed with two additional children. In 1966, the family relocated to Baytown, where Murray began a new career as an instrument technician. He retired from Brown and Root in 1991. Shortly thereafter Murray and Elinor relocated to Mansfield, where they lived until Elinor's death in 1995. Murray enjoyed the remainder of his life in Arlington. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Relda Hawzipta. Survivors: Children, Gerald and wife, Lee Schultz, of Fishers, Ind., Kyle and wife, Sherry Schultz, of The Woodlands, Lisa Schultz of Arlington; five grandchildren; sisters, Avril Beaird of Lebanon, Mo., Dawn Rial of Rochester, Ill., Karen Miller of Borger and Jane McKeown of Romeovilla, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

One of my fondest memory of my brother Murray is when he and my sister Relda would run to church on Sunday morning with them each holding my hands and my feet never touching the ground, It was as if I was flying....I was so happy. To Relda and Murray .....rest in peace.
