Barbara, I am so, so sorry to hear about the loss of Megan. She was such a sweet, quite girl who was taken way too soon just as my grandson was back in April. May God bless you and your family at this difficult time. My deepest sympathies to you all.

Meg was a sweet girl and talented too. She was much too young to leave us. It's such a shame. She really had such promise for the future. Gone too soon, indeed. Her light did not burn long but it did burn bright for many of us.

I only knew Megan through our interactions on Twitter and from reading some of the entries on her blog. Her first post entitled "Coffee" seems almost foreshadowing now that she's gone, yet is one blog post I return to regularly. I never had the chance to meet her in person, yet she managed to bring a smile to my face each time I heard from her on Twitter and now will forever bring a tear to my eye each time I go back to read "Coffee" and realize that the girl who wrote it, and the girl who seemed to have so much ahead of her, will never sit down at her computer again to write another touching blog post or say something silly to me on Twitter to make me laugh.

I'm so sorry she's gone, but also so glad that I knew her for the short time that I did.

Mr. & Mrs. Porter - Thanks for raising such a caring soul and please know that more people than you'll ever know have been touched by Meg and will forever miss her.

Steve and Barbara, my heart breaks for both of you, but I know your love and devotion to each other will help you through the weeks and months to come. Steve is the best friend a person could have and I consider it a privilege for the many great years we have known each other. Barbara is so nice, sweet and just a pleasure to be around. It took two special people to have a precious daughter like Megan. Please don't hesitate to call if you need anything.

My darling Megan,

My emptiness will never be filled, my heart will never heal. You became a part of me, you're the very heart of me, you know it's true. And no matter where I go, every dream and every road lead back to you.

Your momma is crushed, and Cozi waits at the door for you. As for me, my life ended when you left Monday. I will forever fall short of the father you deserved, never said I love you near enough. But the greatest privilege in my lifetime, was the honor of being your daddy.

You are perfection, a dream girl, and I will forever be in love with you. We laid you down today, and they all tell me you are in a better place. If this is so, I will search the universe to find you, if it takes eternity.

I love you little mousie pie,
Daddy 06-26-2009

Barbara, I can't begin to express the sorrow I felt when you told me about Megan. Although I was privileged to meet her only a few times, I will always remember watching her grow up by viewing the photographs you took of her through the years and so proudly displayed at your work place.
I know she was a wonderful and loving young lady because she had you to guide her.
