Carolyn Gay Roberts Obituary
Carolyn Roberts, age 72, entered the kingdom of heaven on Father's Day, June 16, 2013, after a long but graceful fight with RA. Funeral: 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Laurel Land Chapel of Chimes. Interment: Tye Cemetery of Burleson. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the North Texas Humane Society or St. Jude Hospital. Carolyn was born into this world on March 8, 1941. Her parents were Lena and Homer Lemmons. She lived in and around the Fort Worth area for the most of her life. She married Sam Roberts, Jan. 3, 1959, and graduated that year from Northside High School in Fort Worth. She was a telephone operator, retail clerk and insurance agent, but her most important jobs were that of wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She always cared for others and that will be her greatest accomplishment. She was a nurturer her entire life. She loved animals. She was a Christian and attended several churches including Bisbee Baptist in Mansfield, and was a member of Fellowship Church, Fort Worth. Her most favorite activity was to attend church with Michelle and have lunch afterwards. Survivors: Carolyn is survived by her three children and their husbands, Gaylan and Dan Hendricks, Teresa and Earl Bernard, Michelle and David Taylor; grandchildren, Samantha York (Jason), Jay McDonald (Jessica), Tiffany McDonald and Sean Hendricks (Shawna); great-grandchildren, Rylie, Jacob, Bella, Emma, Aiden, Haven and Aubrey; sister, Sharon Ellis and husband, Johnny; niece, Sherry Bowers (Darrell); great-nephew and great-niece, Bryan and Kaylee; her best friend of more than 48 years, Mary Bell and her daughter, Pam Webster; and many other loving relatives and friends. We will miss her terribly, but know that our Daddy has already welcomed her into heaven.
