Dennis Lee Arens Obituary
Dennis Lee Arens passed away Friday, Oct. 11, 2013. Funeral: 11 a.m. Thursday at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller. Interment: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Dennis was born on Dec. 22, 1942, to Joseph and Mary Arens in St. Louis, Mo. Dennis was a graduate of Ritenour High School in St. Louis, Mo. He graduated from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo., with a master's degree in communications. He was married to his loving wife, Shirley, on Nov. 8, 1969. Dennis spent 24 years in the United States Navy, retiring as a chief warrant officer. His dedication to his country was one of hero in progress. He spent the last years of his life working endlessly with the tea party, a group of fellow workers who appreciated his devotion and dedication. Survivors: He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Shirley Arens; daughter, Carree and husband, Philip Farmer; son, Jesse Arens; grandchildren, Erica Garza, Kendall Garza, Colton Farmer, Jackson Farmer and Jennifer Arens; brothers, Joe Arens, Stephen Arens, Michael Arens, Thomas Arens, Kevin Arens, Glennon Arens and Gregory Arens; sisters, Mary Hughes, Lindsay Nix, Susan Blackwell, Christine Higgs, Nancy Tillotson, Anne Schenck, Lisa Linehan, Julie Harding and Laurel Linder; and many other extended family and friends.
