To my Brother in Law, Edmund Rafalko, a man of tremendous command presence and a gifted athlete.I have great respect and admiration for him. I always referred to Rafe, as a man among men. He indeed was that. Semper Fidelis to a star of magnanimous proportions, A Man among Men! Rest in peace General, I salute you.

MG Ed Rafalko United States Air Force was my Squadron Commander (then a LC) in the 2nd BW, 2nd Air Refueling Sq. at Hunter AFB (SAC) Savannah, Ga in 1954. He was a big man in other than size. I last saw him at Carswell AFB for the dedication of the Strategic Air Command Memorial. MG Rafalko was a people person, he always backed his Maintenance people. Rest in peace brother.

I don't remember where or when, but I remember MG Rafalko flew with my B-52 crew once. It was an honor to have him on board and I remember we gave him some pilot seat time. It saddens me to know such a fine gentleman who meant so much to our country is no longer among us. God speed General Rafalko.

I first met MG Rafalko when he was the Director of Athletics at the United States Air Force Academy and I was an intercollegiate athlete-cadet.
Anyone who met him could not help but be immediately aware that he was a giant of a man in all aspects of his life, military or personal. In celebration of a life well lived, I will cherish my memories with him forever.
In toast to a truly wonderful person and US Air Force officer, I will miss him.
