Ernest "Ernie" Sanchez Jr. Obituary
Ernest "Ernie" Sanchez Jr., 59, of Fort Worth died on Monday, April 14, 2014, after a long battle with liver disease. Memorial service: A service to honor Ernie will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 3, at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 901 S. Blue Mound Rd., Blue Mound, 76131. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to his church. Ernie attended Diamond Hill-Jarvis High School and joined the U.S. Air Force then received a medical discharge after a battle with lung cancer. A member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Ernie loved his church, serving God, and singing in the choir. Ernie donated his body to science, and will be remembered for his big heart, great sense of humor, and undying love for the Dallas Cowboys. Ernie was welcomed into heaven by his parents, Carmen and Ernest Sanchez Sr.; and many other dearly loved family members. Survivors: His companion and best friend, Vickie Buchanan; sister, Esther Sanchez and companion, Adan Ruiz; brother, Reyes Sanchez and wife, Connie; nephew, Gabriel Sanchez and wife, Angela; great-nephew, Jaden Layne, who will be born this September; and a host of family and friends.
