Fidencio "Lanch" Barrera, 66, of Crowley passed away Monday, July 1, 2013. Funeral Mass: 11 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Visitation: 4 p.m. Friday at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosary: 7 p.m. Friday, at Kubena Funeral Home, Msgr. John Peters officiating. Pallbearers: Randy Smith, Michael Smith, Victor Rivera, Raymond Charles Rollins, Dwayne Reynolds and Guy Gardiner. Honorary pallbearers (brothers and sisters): Josie, Minnie, Genovena, Ben, Joe and Norbert. Memorials: or donor's choice. He was born Nov. 16, 1946, to Guadalupe & Otilia Gutierrez Barrera Sr. in Hallettsville. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He married Oralia Ramon on Feb. 14, 2004, in Angleton. Lanch was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Johnnye, Andrew and Lupe Barrera. Survivors: Lanch is survived by his wife, Oralia; son, Douglas McDonald of Florida; stepsons, Randall Smith and wife, Renee, of Sweeny, and William Smith and wife, Cleo, of Crowley; brothers, Joe Barrera of Hallettsville, Norbert Barrera of Schulenburg and Ben Barrera of Utah; sisters, Minnie Rollins of Weimar, Genoveva DeLaRosa and Josie Reynolds of Hallettsville; and eight grandchildren.
