Frederick Lawley Obituary
Frederick Lawley, 83, passed away Friday, May 16, 2014. Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Monday in Greenwood Chapel. Frederick was born Nov. 2, 1930, in Widnes, England. He served in the British armed forces in the Kenyan Campaign. Frederick was proud to become a U.S. Citizen in 1978. He worked for Imperial Chemical in the United Kingdom for 20 years and Lockheed Martin for eight years as an engineer. He will be deeply missed by his family. "I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace, Where never lark, or even eagle flew. And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod, The high untrespassed sanctity of space, Put out my hand and touched the face of God." Frederick was preceded in death by his mother, Mabel Barber; father, William Lawley; and sister, Brenda Hunt. Survivors: Wife of 39 years, Constance Lawley; daughter, Deborah Taylor and husband, Robert; son, Grant Davis and wife, Barbara; son, Graham Davis and wife, Carolyn; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Frank Lawley; cousin, Roy Lawley of Australia; brother-in-law, Ab Hunt of England; and his beloved poodle, Millie.
