Gayle Marshall Broyles Obituary
Gayle Broyles, 76, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2013. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Alban's Episcopal Church, located at 911 S. Davis Drive Arlington. A celebration of her life will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. at The White Room, 2227 W. Park Row Drive, Pantego. Gayle was born Oct. 7, 1936, in Beaumont to Doris and Jimmy Marshall. She grew up in Dallas and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School. She attended the University of Oklahoma where she met J. Henry Broyles, an OU football player, who later became her husband of 56 years. They were married Dec. 27, 1956. Gayle and J. Henry raised three children, Jeff, Keith and Kathy, who later gave them eight wonderful grandchildren. They moved to Arlington in 1967 and have lived in Pantego since 1972. Gayle worked for the Arlington Board of Realtors for over 20 years and was very active in the Arlington Arts League. In fact, she was presented the "Linda Cordova" Award from the Arlington Arts League in 2004. Gayle loved her family so very much and always enjoyed meeting and talking to people. She never met a stranger. Survivors: Husband of 56 years, J. Henry Broyles; son, Jeff Broyles and wife, Jamie; son, Keith Broyles; daughter, Kathy Broyles Trcka and fiance, Bob White; grandchildren, Clayton Broyles, Justin Broyles, Alex Broyles, Heather Broyles, Trent Billings, Tanner Billings, Logan Morse and Hudson Morse; sister, Jan Hurley and husband, Tommy; sister-in-law, Jodi Marshall; brothers-in-law, Jerry Broyles and wife, Kaye, Jim Broyles and wife, Nancy, Joe Broyles and wife, Pam; and sister, Jeanne Stutes and husband, Ronnie. Gayle also had many nieces, nephews and so many wonderful friends who will miss her dearly.
