Juanita Buchanan Butler Obituary
Juanita Buchanan Butler, 99, passed away peacefully Monday, May 27, 2013. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Monday, June 3, in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to North Fort Worth Baptist Church or a . Juanita was born in Halfway, Ky., on Nov. 6, 1913, to Lively and Myrtle Buchanan. Her father passed away when Juanita was only 5 years old and she and her mother moved to Fort Worth. She attended school at Rosen Heights Elementary, J.P. Elder Junior High and North Side High and graduated in 1931. Juanita attended the 2008 and 2010 North Side All Classes Reunion and was honored as the oldest graduate in attendance. Juanita met her future husband in her history class at North Side. Juanita and William Butler were married in 1934 and celebrated their 50th anniversary one year before his death. She was a member of North Fort Worth Baptist Church for 78 years. Juanita was a follower of the TCU Horned Frogs and Texas Rangers and attended many of their games over the years. The family would like to thank the many individuals who made life more comfortable and enjoyable for Juanita in her later years. Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, William, and daughter, Betty Cleveland. Survivors: Sons, Bill Butler (Nana) and Bob Butler (Monika); son-in-law, Ron Cleveland; grandchildren, Jack Butler (Marilyn), Scott Butler (Lisa), Tracey Cleveland Dalby and Michael Cleveland; and great-grandchildren, Katie, Lance and Jason Butler and Ryan Dalby.
