Leon Renfrow Obituary

Leon G. Renfrow, 89, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011. Graveside service: 11 a.m. Friday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Lane C. Leon was born June 19, 1922, in Balko, Okla., to the late Oliver and Lula May Renfrow. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in both the Philippines and Japan as a medical technician. Leon graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1948 with a pharmacy degree. He was a longtime member and usher at University Baptist Church. Leon liked to travel and enjoyed antiquing with friends. He was also an avid reader and Texas Rangers fan. He loved being a grandpa most of all. Survivors: Children, Sharon Scott, Randy Renfrow, Leah Bell and Mark Renfrow; grandchildren, Cary Scott, Kelli Renfrow, Logan Renfrow, Sandy Marsh, Thomas Rodriguez, Michelle Sanchez and Matthew Sanchez; brother, Derrel Renfrow and wife, Dorothy; and four great-grandchildren.

Sharon, Gary and I are so sorry to hear about your dad. Although we only met him the one time when he came to Japan to see you, we felt we knew him through you and Kenneth. I know Kenneth loved him also. Our thoughts and prayer are with you and your family.
