Madge Marie Schaffenberg Wallis Obituary
Madge Marie Schaffenberg Wallis, 84, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, July 4, 2014, at 4:44 p.m. in Weatherford. She was met by her Lord and Savior, whom she knew so well. Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Greenwood. Madge was born Sept. 25, 1929, in Lone Wolf, Okla., to Ray and Lucille Schaffenberg. She and her husband, Herbert, lived in River Oaks since 1954 and have been members of Castleberry Baptist Church for 60 years. Madge and Herb started traveling all over the United States, but always had time to go to the East Fork Campground at Pagosa Springs, Colo., to be camp hosts from May to September to be with friends and family. She was a beloved mother and Christian example to her family. Madge was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert, in 2008 and her granddaughter, Kimberly, in 2012. Survivors: Son, Mike Wallis and wife, Cathy, of Cedar Hill; daughter, Candi Wiley and husband, Pastor Mike, of Weatherford; grandsons, Derek Wiley and wife, Jimmie, of Weatherford, Jason Wallis and wife, Nicole, of Justin; granddaughter, Brandi Wallis of Keller; 11 great-grandchildren; and one of her three siblings, Nellie Verhines of Weatherford, Okla.
