1961 - 2012 | Obituary
Michael Allen Fowler, 50, of Corinth died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012, as the result of drowning at Lake Lewisville. Service: Mass of the Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Tim Thompson officiating, followed by a wake at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with a rosary at 7 p.m. Memorials: The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Mike Fowler Memorial, care of North Star Bank, 400 N. Carroll Blvd., Denton, Texas 76201. He was born Dec. 29, 1961, in Panama City, Fla., to Elkin Thomas Fowler and Audrey Grundorf Fowler. He was a graduate of Krum High School's class of 1980, with bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of North Texas and an EMBA from the University of Texas at Dallas. He happily was married to Brandi Nicholle Alexander on Dec. 30, 2001, in Greensburg, Pa. He proudly served in the U.S. Army, receiving the Good Conduct Medal, Army Achievement Medal 4th oak leaf cluster and Overseas Service Ribbon among his many commendations. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, UNT President's Society and avid supporter of the UNT Mean Green. He was self-employed in sales in the biotechnology field. Survivors: Mr. Fowler is survived by his wife, Brandi Nicholle Fowler of Corinth; mother, Audrey Grundorf Fowler of Knoxville, Tenn.; father and stepmother, Elkin Thomas and Susan Fowler of Foxburg, Pa.; sons, Heath Thomas Fowler and Peyton Graham Fowler, both of Denton; brothers, Timothy Douglas Fowler of Knoxville, Tenn., and Joele Johnston Fowler and wife, Janna; nephew and niece, Luke Jackson and Ella Grace of Knoxville, Tenn.; and his beloved Duke "Goobus" and Hunter "Bear-Dog."
