Robert Wayne Chaney Sr. Obituary
Robert Wayne Chaney Sr., 67, departed this life Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, surrounded in the love of his family. Celebration of life: 10 a.m. Saturday in Arlington Funeral Home Chapel. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Robert Chaney to Arlington Animal Services at ArlingtonWebstore.com or mailed to AAS, 1000 S.E. Green Oaks Blvd., Arlington, Texas 76018. Bob, as he was affectionately known by his friends, worked for most of his life as a journeyman sign electrician. He also had a booth at Trader's Village Flea Market for 39 years where he sold electronics and acquired many friends. Bob was born in Birmingham, Ala., on Nov. 15, 1946, to James Chalmers and Mary Baker Chaney. Bob loved animals, especially his dog, Gracie, and his cats, Cinder and Smokey. He was preceded in death by his parents and oldest brother, William Jack Chaney. Survivors: His wife of 32 years, Sherry French Chaney; brother, James W. Chaney; sister, Mary Ann Chaney; children, Robert Wayne Chaney Jr., Richard Lee Chaney (Rebecca), Roger Allan Chaney, Michael Ray Chaney (Shel), Roxanne Alvizo (Stephen), Kimberly Franklin (Scott), Beth Richards (Rickey), Tamara Kelly (Andre), Robert Russell Chaney (Jennifer) and Veronica Soto; granddaughter, Ciarra Chaney, who has lived with him for the past five years; grandson, Seth Alvizo who lives just down the street and visited daily; 26 other grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
