Ruby Mildred Webber Sutter, our "thoroughly modern Millie," left this life peacefully Friday, Aug. 28, 2015, with her family and close friends at her side. Memorial service: 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Leonard Memorial Chapel at First United Methodist Church. The Rev. William Longsworth will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. Memorials: Should friends desire, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the Memorial Fund at First United Methodist Church or a charity of choice. Millie was the daughter of Capt. and Mrs. John D. Webber. She was born in Fort Myer, Va., one of three children. Growing up in a military family, she lived in many places, eventually making Buffalo, N.Y., her home. Her earliest employment was with the DuPont Co. She married, had her only daughter, Susan, and chose to be an at-home mom. Later she moved to St. Petersburg, Fla., where she managed an office supply company, P.K. Smith, until her retirement. Then she moved to be near her daughter in Fort Worth where she enjoyed a full and happy life with her family and her many dear, dear friends. She will be missed, especially by her partner in comedy, crime and Ranger worship, Nadine Hester. Survivors: Her daughter, Susan and son-in-law, Dr. Tom Howard; granddaughter, Jennifer and husband, Jason, and great-granddaughter, Sylvie of Bainbridge Island, Wash.; grandson, Todd and wife, Tina, and great-granddaughters, Madison and Jane, of Fort Worth; and many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends, including Maria Hurtado, who has been Millie's "adopted daughter" and family friend forever.

I never met Millie but as a friend of Susan, I imagine she was a wonderful lady. My deepest sympathy to the family.
