Vivian Starr Obituary
Vivian Reid Starr, born Jan. 17, 1922, in Sherman, went to be with Our Lord Jesus on Friday, Aug. 23, 2013. Service: 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Timothy Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 3001 Forest Ridge Drive, Bedford. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home. Vivian lived in Bedford for more than 40 years and taught first grade at Lee Britain Elementary in Irving for 20-plus years, earning the honor of Teacher of the Year in 1975. Vivian graduated from Texas Woman's University with a music degree and played violin in the Midland Symphony Orchestra for many years. Vivian was married to Clinton DeWitt Starr and had three children, Jean Starr Lewis of Trophy Club, John Starr of Bedford and Ann Starr Counts of Azle. She was a member of St. Timothy Cumberland Presbyterian Church and enjoyed her volunteer activities with Stonecroft Ministries. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Dewitt Starr. Survivors: Vivian is survived by her children, Jean, John and Ann; their spouses, Glen, Cindi and Ron; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; as well as her sister-in-law, Wauline Bergan and her extended family.
