Willis Harold Glen "Ginny" Chambers Obituary
Willis Harold Glen "Ginny" Chambers, 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by family Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013. Memorial service: 3 p.m. Wednesday at William C. Martin United Methodist Church in Bedford, with Dr. Alan Byrd officiating. Viewing: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Alpine Funeral home, 2300 N. Sylvania Ave., Fort Worth. Memorials: James L. West Care Center, in care of Hospice of the Southwest, 1111 Summit Ave., Fort Worth, Texas 76102. Glen was born Sept. 20, 1937, to the late Lela Muriel and Walter Raleigh Chambers in Santa Anna. He was married to the love of his life, Billie Marie, on June 21, 1954. Glen graduated from McMurry University in Abilene in 1960. He moved his family to the small bedroom community of Bedford in 1963. Glen enjoyed a rewarding career in sales and continued working up until the summer of 2013. Glen was an avid sports fan and enjoyed life to the fullest. The most important thing in life to "Ginny" was his family. Glen was the best husband, father, grandfather and friend anyone could ever ask for. He will be sadly missed. Special thanks to the Oncology Unit at Harris Hospital HEB and Hospice of the Southwest for the care given to this great man as he fought a hard fight. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gordon Chambers; and sister, Juanita Edington. Survivors: His loving wife of 59 years, Billie; son, Rode and wife, Teresa; daughters, Jule Sisco and husband, Joe, and Kalena Chambers; grandchildren, Randall Blackburn, Kyle Sisco, Jeka Sisco, Jim Webb, Shirey McKinley and Taylor Ingraham; great-grandchildren, Josh Blackburn, Harper Blackburn and Noelle Sisco; special friends, David Hunter and Wayne Shackelford; his Golden Retriever, Cinnamon; sisters, Olene Johnson and Aleta Coleman; and numerous other family members; and dear friends.
