William Purvis Obituary

William Earl Purvis passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, June 22, 2011. Service: will be conducted Tuesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 500 W. McDonwell School Rd., Colleyville. A pre-funeral viewing will begin at 1:30 p.m. followed by the funeral at 3 p.m. Immediately after the completion of services a meal will be served for all attendees. A viewing will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the family residence. Bill was born July 13, 1932, in San Francisco Calif., and was a longtime resident of Southlake. Bill retired from American Airlines after 40 years of service, the last 27 of which were marked by perfect attendance. "Mr. Bill" became some what of a Southlake institution during his 17-year tenure as a bus driver for the children in the Carroll Independent School District. Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Purvis. Survivors: His brother, Jack; his loving children, Cynthia, Karen, Steven and wife, Zaneta, Sharon and her husband, Jason, and Paul; grandchildren, Jennifer, Sean and Thomas; his best friends, Steve and Patty; and the many families of the Carroll school district.

Thanksgiving and Christmas will never be the same without Bill and his children sharing this time with our family. I will miss the friendship that we shared.

Mr. P will be missed by so many that love him. We were all blessed to have had him with us as long as we did. RIP Mr. P. He was a very strong willed man to the end.
