Dorothy Lee Harris of Denison slipped quietly away to be with her Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013. Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at Brown Trail Gospel Assembly, 211 Brown Trail, Hurst. Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Bratcher Funeral Home in Denison. She was born Jan. 10, 1924, to Joseph Clemons and Hattie Mae Perry of Rice. She was married 74 years Oct. 7 to the Rev. Albert Harris. She was a housewife who wore many hats over the years, among those of loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, pastor's wife, youth group assistant and a bookkeeper. She had a delightful sense of humor and kept written records of events and funny stories. She loved crocheting, sewing, reading and word finds. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Clemon and Hattie Mae Perry; two daughters, Joan, Martin and Nancy Sue Harris; two grandchildren, J.B. Cabler and Todd Phelps; great-grandchild, Sebastian Speir; daughter-in-law, Reda Harris; three brothers, Richard, Bootsie and Willie Clyde Perry; and two sisters, Maggie Mae and Patricia Perry. Survivors: Husband, the Rev. Albert F. Harris; daughter, Shirley Cabler and husband, Don, of Memphis, Texas; son, Harvey Harris and wife, Vicki, of Fort Worth; son-in-law, Mike Martin of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Debbie Phelps, Rodney Harris and wife, Kelli, Dana Venable and husband, Richard, Sharon Martin, Christe Speir and husband, Yancey, Brett Pierce and wife, Joanie, Melody Cabler and Don Cabler; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers, Gene Perry and wife, Beulah, and J.C. Perry and wife, Debbie; and sisters, Pam Gray and Wanda Byrd.
