George Watts Obituary
George Watts, 86, loving husband, father, stepfather, grandfather and great-grandfather, went to live with Jesus, our Lord and Savior, on Monday, Feb. 17, 2014. Celebration of life: 11 a.m. Thursday at Wedgwood Baptist Church, 5522 Whitman Ave., Fort Worth. Interment: Aledo Cemetery. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road. George was born Jan. 17, 1928, in Baird to Frank and Mae Etta Watts. He was the oldest of six children. He attended many schools in Texas before going to Abilene where he attended high school. George remembers those years in Abilene as very joyful. He joined the Air Force in 1946 and was honorably discharged Feb. 18, 1949. He lived many years in Fort Worth, went to Alta Mere Baptist Church where he served as deacon, treasurer and other positions. George and his wife, Clovis, joined Wedgwood Baptist Church in 1983. His strong love for our Lord Jesus Christ was evident in all walks of his life. He had lived in Benbrook for about 50 years. George worked at General Dynamics for about 12 years and Watts Drilling for over 25 years. He loved working on water wells and windmills. George was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Almeda; granddaughter, Nicole Sanderson; sister, LaDema Jones; brother-in-law, Raymond Jones; half sister, Prudy Cochran; and half brothers, R.W. Watts and Sep Watts. Jesus said, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father, but through Me." John 14:6 Survivors: His loving wife of 34 years, Clovis; daughter, Karla Sanderson and husband, John; stepdaughter, Robin Passmore; granddaughter, Amber Passmore; grandsons, John Sanderson Jr. and Brad Passmore; great-grandson, Jordan Reed; great-granddaughter, Winter Amos; brothers, Jack Watts and wife, Jean, and Frank Watts and wife, Sandra; sisters, Joy Allen and husband, Fred, and Dorothy Williamson and husband, Ebb; numerous nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends too many to mention.
