Pauline Cook Wallace received her wings Monday, Feb. 24, 2014. Funeral: 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, at Greater Saint Stephen First Church, 3728 E. Berry St. Interment: Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 1 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at historic Baker Funeral Home. Wake: 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Pauline Cook Wallace was born on Oct. 16, 1929, to the late Gilbert and Ruby Babers Cook in Pelham. She was a graduate of historic I.M. Terrell High School and Paul Quinn College in Waco. Pauline married Clyde Weldon Wallace on Sept. 26, 1950. Her parents; oldest daughter, Belinda Jean Washington; and brother, Arthur Ray Cook, preceded her in death. She was member of Morningside United Methodist Church for several years,and served there as a communion steward; Sister Wallace later became a member of Greater Saint Stephen First Church. Mrs. Wallace taught at Morningside Elementary School more than 30 years before retirement. Survivors: Her husband, who was her rock, Clyde Weldon Wallace; daughter, Cynthia Wallace Taylor (Robert); sons, Kenneth "Buster" Carr and Clyde C. Wallace (Paula); sister, Helen Johns; grandchildren, Afriel Nelson (Byron), Tamarra Washington Billings, William F. Washington (Brandi), Crystal McGruder (Bachary), Lakesha Harden (Gregory), Sharne' Washington (Troy), Chvonne Taylor and Kelci Wallace; 14 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, A.C. Wallace; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives; and many friends.
