Mike Byrne Obituary
Mike Byrne, 50, passed away Friday, March 14, 2014, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. During his last weeks he was comforted by his loving family and his many friends who were able to visit. Service: Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, if you so desire, donations may be made to pancreatic cancer research or Community Hospice. Mike graduated from Nolan Catholic High School, earned bachelor of arts and master's degrees from the University of North Texas and was awarded his certified public accountant certificate. Out of college Mike worked as a security auditor for MBNA and was their youngest senior officer. Most recently he was systems manager and co-owner of Byrne Brothers Foods Inc. Mike was a generous man. He loved his family and friends and his dog-walking neighbors. He enjoyed biking and walking his dog, Duke. He kept his sense of humor throughout his illness. He was a good man. Survivors: Mike is survived by his mother and father, John and Jo Ann Byrne; sister, Diane Fackler and husband, Marc; brothers, John and wife, Audrey, Tom and wife, Judy, Jim, Danny and wife, DeeDee; nephews, Matt Fackler, John D. Byrne, Michael J. Byrne and Jared B. Byrne; nieces, Molly and Ginny Byrne; and cousins, Becky Meisch, and Rick and wife, Nancy Meisch.
