John Noxon Anderson Obituary
John Noxon Anderson, beloved by friends and family, passed all too soon Saturday, March 15, 2014, following a tragic accident in Grand Canyon National Park. Service: 10 a.m. Saturday, March 22, at First United Methodist Church, Grapevine. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Purdue Foundation or another institute of higher learning. John was born Dec. 1, 1960, in St. Louis, Mo., the son of John and Renate Anderson. He earned a B.S. in chemical engineering from Purdue University, where he met the love of his life, wife Stephanie Bresser Anderson. They settled in Grapevine where John fulfilled a dream to build his own business, a thriving State Farm Insurance agency. John's passions for adventure, sports and the great outdoors led him to pursue many varied interests including world travel, hiking, photography, motorcycling, flying, skiing and scuba diving. Those fortunate enough to have spent time with John will remember his zest for life, strong integrity, caring nature, and friendly personality toward everyone he met that will leave an inspiring legacy and smiles in our hearts. Survivors: John was a devoted family man and a wonderful father to his daughter, Emily of Austin; son, James of Norman, Okla.; and son, Eric at home. John is also survived by a brother, Bill Anderson of Overland Park, Kan.; sister, Margaret Anderson of Chesterfield, Mo.; sister, Marie Smith of Novi, Mich.; and an extended loving family including six brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and 11 nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss him greatly.
