Crystelle Conner Rapp, 78, passed away Monday, April 7, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday at University Christian Church. Interment: Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive visitors at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the church's Gallery. Pallbearers: Matt Beard, Halden Conner, Bryan Henderson II, Bryan Henderson III, Robert Norris, Steve Norris, Robert Rapp and Randy Rapp. Honorary pallbearers: Reese Alsmiller, Byron Baird, Bob Barham, Jim Carson, Bill Courtney, Tom Lawrence, Les Miller, John Perryman, Craig Roberts, George York and Bill Yousey. Memorials: To honor her life, donations may be made to the University Christian Church Hand Bell Choir or to a . Crystelle was born in Dallas to William Clarence and Geneveive "Bebe" Halden Conner. She graduated from Paschal High School in 1954 and the University of Texas in 1958. Throughout her life she was proud to be a Panther and a Longhorn, and always maintained a special connection with her Paschal friends. In 1957 she married the love of her life, Robert T. "Bob" Rapp, and they had 34 marvelous years together before his passing in 1991. She loved Fort Worth and was proud of her connection with Alcon, the company co-founded by her father in 1945. Above all, Crystelle was a loving spouse, mother and grandmother, and had a gift for making those she loved feel special. She was always happiest with her family and friends and especially loved spending time with her grandkids, who nicknamed her "Grandhappy." She enjoyed traveling, particularly to Colorado, New York and London, and attending UT football games. Crystelle had many great memories and made good friends working at the Seville Shop and Dance Shop. She was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority and received her 50-year pin in 2007. Over the years she was active in numerous organizations including Barnaby, Canwick Club, Junior Woman's Club and Woman's Club, and was a lifelong member and elder at University Christian Church. Crystelle was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bob; father, Bill Conner; mother, Bebe Conner; stepmother, Mary Francis Conner; and mother-in-law, Gertie Rapp. Survivors: Her daughter, Karen and husband, Bryan; son, Randy and wife, Lydia; grandchildren, Bryan Henderson III, Lauren Rapp and Robert Rapp; brother, Halden Conner and wife, Kate; sister, Debbie Conner Norris and husband, Steve; brother, Greg Conner; and many nieces and nephews.
