Idis Ann Morris Kelley Obituary
Idis Ann Morris Kelley, 67, passed away Friday, May 16, 2014, in Georgetown. Funeral: A celebration of her life will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Acton United Methodist Church. Interment: 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Laurel Land Memorial Park in Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Wiley Funeral Home. Memorials: Memorials may be given to Acton United Methodist Church or Granbury Friends for Animals, 2885 Fall Creek Highway, Granbury, Texas 76049. Idis was born April 28, 1947, and she took her smiling Irish eyes home on May 16, 2014. Idis taught in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD for 30 years, first as a business and English teacher at Trinity High School and her last years at the KEYS school teaching at-risk students, a job she described that she was born to do. She loved animals, especially cats and later dogs. She loved anything Irish, Miss Kitty or Donald and Daisy Duck, pet names she and her husband had for each other. This brilliant, beautiful woman with an Irish personality and all the wit that goes with that was loved by so many students and colleagues. She retired in 1999 to Granbury and DeCordova Bend Estates with her husband, Don, whom she married in 1979. They recently moved to Sun City in Georgetown to be nearer children and grandchildren and for both to really retire. In recent years she had developed a number of medical problems and being near to family was a great comfort to her. She was a member of Acton United Methodist Church where her husband was on staff. She enjoyed the many travels with her husband and the many cruises. Together they visited more than thirty countries and all but a few states in the U.S. Survivors: Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Don Kelley; her a son, Mark Chandler and her daughter-in-law, Danielle, of Round Rock and their beloved children, Mason, Marissa and Blake; her daughter, Laura Davis and husband, Kim, of Arlington and their children, Riley and Raymond; stepdaughters whom she loved as her own, Donann Kelley of Austin and Kristin Kelley Gomez and her husband, Joaquin, and beloved grandchild, McKenna Grace, of Rio Rancho, N.M.
