1925 - 2014 Obituary Condolences
Georgia Mae Hoffman Hill Obituary
Georgia Mae Hoffman Hill, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, went to be with her Savior Thursday, May 22, 2014, from a sudden heart attack. Celebration of life: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, with a graveside service immediately following. Visitation: 10 to 11 a.m. Memorials: If desired, memorials may be made to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, 2222 Welborn, Dallas, Texas 75219. Georgia was born on Oct. 7, 1925, to Janie and George Hoffman in Arlington. She had many friends growing up and was voted "Most Popular Girl" for her junior and senior years at Handley High School in Fort Worth. After graduation she worked as a computer card key punch operator at First National Bank, Miller's Mutual Insurance Co., and War Assets during World War II. Georgia met the love of her life, Bill Hill, at church, when she was 12 years old. Bill was also voted "Most Popular Boy" at Handley High School the same years as Georgia. Georgia and Bill married in 1944 and enjoyed 70 years together. Their successful marriage was because they kept their love for the Lord first, their love for each other second and their love for their sons and grandchildren a close third. Georgia was a devoted wife and mother. She loved her boys, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and supported them in their activities and provided for their every need. Georgia was a volunteer for 11 years at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. She served in numerous areas at her church and loved teaching children in Sunday school. She loved the Lord and made sure each of her boys accepted Jesus as their Savior. Georgia was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Charles Hoffman; and sisters, Peggy Shafer and Sherrie Arnold. Survivors: Her husband, Bill; sons, Ronnie Hill and wife, Peggy, Jim Hill and wife, Kay, Marc Hill and wife, Susan, Dwight Hill and wife, Maribel; grandchildren, Marcus Hill, Hunter Hill, Austin Hill, Amanda Burkett, Courtney Ptak, Chris Hill, Brian Hill, Kimberly Russo, Garrett Hill, Ava Hill and Jacob Hill; and eight great-grandchildren.
