Mary Hogan Obituary
Our beloved mother and friend, Mary Lee Rogers Hogan of Fort Worth, was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 31, 2014. Graveside service: 10:15 a.m. Monday, June 9, in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas. Visitation: with family and friends will be 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 8, at Blessing Funeral Home in Mansfield. Mary was born June 16, 1930, to Ingram Rogers and Anna Pearl Adams Rogers in Fort Worth. She grew up in Mansfield, where she met and married the love of her life, Hugh "Gene" Hogan, on Nov. 4, 1950. Mary enjoyed gardening, canning, music, sewing, dancing and traveling, but most important to her were her children and the large family that came from the union of their marriage. Throughout her life Mary Lee was a beautiful and caring person who was loved by everyone for her kind-hearted disposition. She was a strong and amazing woman who never back down from a challenge and the strength of her faith in Christ was the underlying reason why. Her most joyful times were spent in the presence of her family as we laughed and took our many trips down memory lane. Mary graduated from Mansfield High School in 1948. After graduation she worked for Montgomery Ward's business office and then became a homemaker for many years. In 1972 she went to work for the Mansfield ISD and worked as a cafeteria manager until her retirement in 1992. Mary also sold Avon from 1970 until 2006 and enjoyed her time with her many customers. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Mansfield and a member of the Mansfield Chapter of O.E.S. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Hugh "Gene" Hogan; her parents, Ingram and Anna Pearl Rogers; brothers, Thomas Rogers and Ralph Rogers; and sister, Betty Cleveland. Survivors: Those left to celebrate her life are her children, Linda Sue Hogan-Andrews and husband, David, Floyd Gene Hogan, John Alan Hogan and wife, Shalee, and Patricia Ann'e Hogan; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and two little ones on the way; her beloved nieces and nephews; and numerous friends and extended family.
