Ernest Everett Beshear Jr. Obituary
Ernest "Ernie" Everett Beshear Jr. died Tuesday, June 17, 2014, and is now with Jesus Christ. Graveside service: 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Laurel Land Memorial Park. Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hope Church, 1750 Beach St., Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Laurel Land Funeral Home. Ernie was born April 20, 1933, in Chandler, Ariz. He graduated from Jacksboro High School and was honorably discharged after serving with the U.S. Army in Korea. He attended what is now Dallas Baptist University and worked 44 years at Lockheed Martin. Ernie served in leadership positions including chairman of deacons at both James Avenue and Travis Avenue Baptist churches. On retirement, he and his wife, Deonne, served as missionaries with the European Baptist Convention, International Mission Board SBC and in New England. He received the 2013 "Volunteer of the Year" award as a volunteer chaplain at John Peter Smith Hospital. Focusing on Christ's love, he brought smiles, peace and love to many. Survivors: He is survived by his loving wife of more than 50 years, Deonne; children and spouses, Susan and Jim Tidwell, Cindy and Todd Parker, and David and Elizabeth Beshear; grandchildren, Bradley, Jensen, Graham, Paige, Stephen, Ellie, Gage and Ben; and brothers, Jerry and Don and their families.
