Phyllis Waychoff

1928 - 2014 Obituary Condolences
Phyllis Waychoff passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014. Memorial service: 12:30 p.m. Saturday, June 28, at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel in Colleyville. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Carl. Phyllis was born in Lufkin in October 1928. She met her future husband, Carl Edward Waychoff, through her sister, Sara, in Corpus Christi while working at the naval base. Early in their marriage Carl's work in the insurance industry moved them to various cities in the Southwest until they settled in Dallas. Phyllis was dedicated to raising her six children, making a beautiful home and being a devoted wife to Carl. She loved to sew and her talent has been exhibited throughout the years in her children's clothes, teenage attire, prom dresses and wedding gowns and her grandchildren's clothing. True to her Italian heritage, she was also a great cook. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; and her parents, Joseph and Pasqualina De Stefano. She grew up in a large family and was second to the youngest of 12 children. Phyllis and Carl were devoted Catholics and frequently entertained the clergy from the Catholic Church. They had many friends and loved to travel after their children were grown. Survivors: Her six children and their spouses, Carl Waychoff Jr. and his wife, Diane, Terry Sherrell and her husband, Mark, Lori Hillis and her husband, Mark, Carol Dodgen and her husband, Max, John Charles Tucker and Katherine Bordelon and her husband, Edmond. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Heather, Nicole, Craig, Rachel, Ashley, Emily, Owen, Lauren, Annaleah; and one great-grandchild, Aaron.
