Charity Elizabeth Duckworth Obituary
Charity Elizabeth Duckworth, 79, departed this life Friday, June 27, 2014. Service: 3 p.m. Thursday in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Charity, known as Terry to her family and friends, was born in Hanston, Kan., and was a child of the Great Depression. With her entrepreneurial spirit and generous heart, she was blessed immensely by God with success in business, family, friends and a wonderful life. Charity and her family moved from Wichita, Kan., in 1965. She and her husband, Bill, purchased Mr. T's of Texas, later know as EZ TV and Appliance Rental of Fort Worth, which grew to six locations in Texas. They also formed Duckworth Investments in 1991, a real estate leasing business. Charity was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi, joining in 1969. She held various positions, such as vice president in 1976, '83, '84, '89, '90, '92 and 1993; president in 1979, '80, '82, '91, 2011, 2012 and 2013; sweetheart in 1980, '81, '85, '86 and '92; Girl of the Year, 1992; corresponding secretary, 1996, '97, '98, 2010; Order of the Rose, 1986; and Touch Bearer Degree, 2014. Her husband, Bill, preceded her in death in 1994. Survivors: Children, Dianna Quinn, Bill Duckworth Jr., Colleen Mulkey and fiance, Chris Boyle; grandchildren, Shawn Blair and wife, Whitney, Crystal Gonzales and spouse, Sam, Billy Duckworth III, Brandon Duckworth; and great-grandchildren, Madison, Ayden, Allie Blair, Chanel and Sadie Gonzales.
