Wanda Booth Obituary
Wanda Booth, 79, passed away Friday, July 18, 2014. Service: 2 p.m. Tuesday at J.E. Foust & Son Funeral Chapel. Visitation: Noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at J.E. Foust Funeral Home. On Aug. 7, 1934, Wanda was born in Fort Worth to Charles Pennington from Drop and Winnie Mae Tidwell from Roanoke. In 1952 she married Bobbie Lee Booth, a future Texas Hall of Fame Cowboy. Wanda worked 26 years at the Denton State School eventually becoming the chief accountant and the first woman chief accountant in the State of Texas system. She was always proud of the fact that she often had the lowest error rate in the state. While working at the facility, she loved all the residents and referred to them as her kids. Wanda served as treasurer for the Grapevine Opry for many years. She and her husband, Bobby, were avid square dancers. Wanda was also a member of the Keller Women's Club, where in 2005 she was the Star Award recipient for Woman of the Year. She was Baptist by faith. She loved her family, all children, and Elvis. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Pennington and Winnie Mae Tidwell Hughes. Survivors: She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 62 years, Bobby Booth of the home; son, William Booth and wife, Lorraine, of Haltom City; granddaughter, Ronee Terry and husband, Colby, of Keller; grandson, Jackson Skyler Booth of California; and great-grandson, James Easton Terry.
