Steven Charles Wallace Obituary
Steven Charles Wallace passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014, in Lubbock. Celebration of life: A gathering to pay tribute to Steve's life will be held 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, July 31, at the Tarrant County Bar Association Center, 1315 Calhoun St., Fort Worth. Memorials: If desired, memorials may be made in Steve's honor to the Humane Society of North Texas or the Texas Tech Alumni Association. Steve was born to Chuck and Hillene Wallace on Jan. 19, 1953, in Lubbock. He graduated from Cleburne High and received his B.A. and J.D. degrees from Texas Tech and Texas Tech School of Law. Steve was an assistant county attorney in Parker County, assistant district attorney in Tarrant County and the judge of Tarrant County Court at Law No. 2, after which he retired from the bench to go into private practice. Steve was a man of faith who loved God. His other loves were music, especially the Beatles and Elvis, playing his guitar and composing songs; Red Raider football; Rangers baseball; Dallas Cowboys football (depending on the season); Colonial golf tournaments; travel; and spending time with friends, family and his pets. But above all else, Steve loved his children, Christie, Zack and Kyle. They were the loves of his life and his greatest pride. Steve was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Manly Stone; grandparents, Maudie "Mima" and John Wortman, Charlie "Pa" and Clemmie Wallace, and Mac and Cleo McMillin. Survivors: Daughter, Christie Wallace and her fiance, Tommy Brown, of Dallas; sons, Zack Wallace and Kyle Wallace of Los Angeles; and other family members.
