Faye Morrison Humphus Obituary
Faye Morrison Humphus, 98, passed from this life to a pain-free life with her Lord on Friday, Aug. 1, 2014, at a Fort Worth care facility. Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Saginaw Church of Christ with Michael Orr officiating. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Greenwood Chapel. Faye was born on April 9, 1916, in Mundy to Walter and Lola Morrison. She was the oldest of 10 children. She married W.A. "Buck" Humphus on Aug. 31, 1935. For a short period of time they resided in Graham. In 1942 they moved to Saginaw which they called home for the next 72 years. Faye was an icon in the Saginaw community, twice being honored as Senior Citizen of the Year. She had a servant's heart and was always ready to help anyone in need. Faye and Buck were longtime members of the Saginaw Church of Christ and were very involved in the growth of that congregation. Faye was the oldest member of the Saginaw church, being a member there since 1942. She truly loved her church family and the feeling was mutual. Faye was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, W.L. "Buck" Morrison and Clarence Morrison; four sisters, Raybena Baker, Jo Marie Edmondson, Lola Mae and Charlcie Morrison; her husband, W.A. "Buck" Humphus; and a son, Kenneth Walter Humphus. Survivors: Son, C.L. Humphus and his wife, Jan; sisters, Alpha "Dink" Autry of Arlington, Ruby Lee Reed of Saginaw and Brenda and husband, David Patterson of Arlington; grandchildren, Cami Grasher, Chad Humphus and Andy Humphus; and four great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a host of loving friends.
