Jean Marjorie Cummings, 82, passed away Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, at her home. Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Greenwood. Jean was born Jan. 8, 1932, in Vassalboro, Maine, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Berryman. She graduated from Coney High School in Maine. After raising her children, Jean went back to school and earned an associate of arts degree in business administration from Oscar Rose Junior College in 1976. Jean made her living doing a number of different things including owning and operating a Baskin Robbins store, working in grocery stores, and finally as a bookkeeper for the Tarrant County Adult Probation Department from which she retired. Jean was known as "Gram" to her family and her home was the family sanctuary. Over the years of her life, various family members and/or their pets were welcomed to live in Gram's little house for however long they needed a place to stay. Gram loved all of her great-grandchildren, but she was particularly close to Aubrey Cline, who spent almost every weekend with her for several years. Jean was married to Dave Cummings for 37 years; she and Dave divorced in 1987. Jean never remarried, and they remained friends until her death. Survivors: Children, Fred Cummings of Fort Worth, Joy Cummings of Phoenix, Ariz., and Patricia Cline of Azle; grandchildren, Sarah Cline, Megan Cline, Ian Cline, David Bowers, Amy Olesen, Donielle Riedlinger, Eric Cummings, Aundrea "Kristy" Peacock and David Araujo.; and 10 great-grandchildren.
