Charles Patrick Royes, "Chief," 77, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at his home in Arlington. A celebration of life service was held on Tuesday, May 23, at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Arlington, with Father Mike Ciski presiding. Charles was born Sept. 14, 1939, in New Orleans, La., to Joseph and Clara Royes. He loved reading, fishing, gardening and his beloved hometown of New Orleans, La. He dearly enjoyed spending summers in Port Townsend, Wash., with Alean. He adored his four grandchildren and cherished every opportunity to spend time with them. He also treasured his faithful dog and great friend, Fisher. He was a volunteer at Holy Rosary Catholic School and helped children learn to read.
