Shirley Bradley, 78, passed away Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007, in Azle.|
Graveside service: 2 p.m. Thursday in Azleland Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at White's Azle Funeral Home.
Shirley was born Nov. 14, 1929, in New Bethlehem, Pa., to Carl and Henrietta Freeman. She had been a resident of Azle for over 50 years.
Shirley served the city of Azle in many capacities. From October 1973 to October 1977, she was the planning and zoning secretary; in January of 1980 she was the assistant city secretary; and from October 1980 to November 1991, she served as assistant city manager.
She also served as interim city manager from April 1982 to July 1982 and again from October 1983 until February 1984.
Shirley served as a city council member from May 1992 to May 1994. She also served as the mayor of Azle from May 1995 until May 1999.
Shirley was very proud of her tenure with the city of Azle.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Brad Bradley; brothers, Donald Freeman and Harold Dawson; and sister, Barbara Catchpole.
Survivors: Brother, Richard Freeman and wife, Micheline of Azle; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
