1987 - 2008 | Obituary Condolences
Travis Dylan Ezell passed away Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, at his residence in Fort Bragg, N.C.
Service: 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at Southside Church of Christ in Mineral Wells with Chaplain Robert Glazener officiating. Interment: Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Travis Dylan Ezell was born in Fort Worth on March 12, 1987. He grew up in and around Mart and Emory. He was a sports letterman in both football and baseball. He graduated from Rains High School in 2005.
Travis joined the military in July 2005. He attended basic training at Fort Knox, Ky. He later went on to his advanced individual training in Aberdeen Proving, Md. After AIT, he attended the United States Airborne School in Fort Benning, Ga. Upon graduating from Airborne School, he proceeded to his permanent party duty assignment in Fort Bragg, N.C., with the 782nd Base Support Battalion. He was called to support Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan, where he completed a 15-month combat tour from December 2006 to March 2008 at Forward Operating Base "Salerno." After returning from overseas, he was invited to be a part of the United States Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School, where he would be working with the U.S. Special Operations Command in the SOF Armament Facility as a small weapons specialist.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Janice Gay Jay Kimberlin, Donald Mac Ezell and Mellie Jo Hatley.
Survivors: His father, Larry Randall Ezell; mother and stepfather, Sandra Gayle Ezell-Almon and James Richard Almon; brothers, Trevor Reese Almon and James Ryan Almon; grandparent, John Young Stephenson; uncles, Gary, Brad, Mitch, Doug and Cory; aunts, Sheri, Jean and Karen; and cousins, Valerie, Michele and John.
