JAMES HENRY HARRISON

1923 - 2012 | Obituary
James Henry Harrison, 89, a very loving father and brother, joined his beloved wife, Billie, in heaven, Thursday, June 14, 2012. Graveside service: 11 a.m. Tuesday in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. James was born Jan. 27, 1923, in Fort Worth. He served his country with pride in the U.S. Army at the Battle of Normandy in Northern France, driving a tank and certified as a rifle carbine sharpshooter. He returned home to start a family with the love of his life, Billie Hudgins Harrison. Together they raised three children, Jimmy, Iris and Donald. James retired from General Dynamics after 44 years of dedicated service. In James' and Billie's retirement years, they spent many happy days fishing near their Granbury Lake cabin and hosting fish frys for family and traveling to Canada on fishing expeditions. James was recently recognized by the Grand Lodge of Texas for 60 years as a Master Mason. He was preceded in death by too many family members to name, but we know there is one heck of a family reunion and fish fry going on in heaven now. Survivors: James leaves behind his children, Jimmy Harrison and wife, Cathy, Iris Stagner and husband, Butch, and Donald Harrison and wife, Debbie; sisters, Katherine Spradley and Sue Greer; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
