Clovis Edward "Ed" Counts Jr., 81, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013, in Fort Worth. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Wednesday in Memory Gardens of the Valley, 5600 Mineral Wells Highway, Weatherford. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Millsap Scholarship Foundation, Box 801, Millsap, Texas 76066. Ed was born Dec. 17, 1931, to Helen Cooper Ford and Clovis Edward Counts Sr. in Hillsboro. He graduated from Hillsboro High School where he lettered in football and later attended Texas Wesleyan where he studied accounting. Ed was an Army Korean War veteran and was stationed in Alaska. Ed's primary career was a federal civil servant in audit and accounting for the U.S. Immigration and most recently with FEMA. He was an avid car enthusiast and loved classic movies and music. Ed was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors: Wife, Emy Counts; four children; and several grandchildren.

I was totally surprised to see Ed's name in the obituary column. He was my first cousin and I loved his parents and Ed very much. Please give everyone my love and well wishes. Helen's brothers (Bruce Ford's) son.

Ed was my best friend and former boss. He was highly respected and recognized for his great life skills. We will miss him and never forget both Emmy and Ed and our prayers continue for all the family members.
