Manuel Wayne Pickering Obituary
Manuel Wayne Pickering, 85, of Brock passed away Monday morning, May 13, 2013. Graveside service: Masonic service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Brock Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel. Mr. Pickering was born May 23, 1927, in Blaire, Okla., and had resided in Parker County for many years. He retired from Bell Helicopter after 40 years. He was a member of Brock United Methodist Church, Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, a 50-year member of the Masonic Order and an endowed member of Brock Olive Branch Masonic Lodge. Mr. Pickering was a veteran of the Marine Corps and served during World War II. Survivors: Wife, Dorothy Pickering of Brock; daughters, Karon Pickering of Biloxi, Miss., and Gretchen Buckanan of Helotes; sons, David Pickering of Brock, James Pickering of Everman; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sisters, Glenda Atchley and husband, Tom, of Wanette, Okla., and Nancy Pickering of Seminole, Okla.
