Matthew Forbis Brown Obituary
Matthew Forbis Brown, 42, of McKinney passed away Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013. Memorial service: 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, in Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen. Matthew was born and raised in Fort Worth. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1990 to 1994 during the Gulf War. He was an aviation technician petty officer and received the Bronze Star. He married Tina Moddelmog on Feb. 10, 1995. Matthew was a senior software engineer at Intuit Inc. and recently received the Scott Cook Innovation Award. He had a passion for technical innovation and design. Matthew was loved by his peers. He was a member of the Dallas Writers Garret (Literary Club). Matthew was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arthur and Anna May Rice and George and Emma Lou Brown. Survivors: His loving wife, Tina Brown of McKinney; in-laws, Ralph and Maletta Moddelmog of Council Bluffs, Iowa; parents, Paul and Julia Brown of Fort Worth; sister, Barbara Brown, fiance, Robert Kilobo, and their daughter, Audrey, of Fort Worth; sister, Jennifer Bezner, husband, Justin Bezner, and their daughters, Avery and Kendall of Bastrop; grandmother, Katherine "Kitty" Rice of Austin; aunts and uncles, Bill and Brenda Rice of Palestine, Ian Rice of Boca Raton, Fla., Mollie Blackburn of Roeland Park, Kan., and Dr. Barbara and Dr. Hal DeShong of Austin.
