George D. Harris Obituary
George D. Harris, 88, passed away Friday, Dec. 6, 2013. Funeral: 2 p.m. Thursday in Arlington Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Arlington Funeral Home. George was born April 26, 1925. He served time in the Army during World War II where he received a Purple Heart. George retired as a construction supervisor with Jim Williams Construction Co. He lived in Arlington for the majority of his life until his recent move to North Richland Hills. He had lots of great-nieces and nephews who considered him a grandfather figure. He was a very loving family man and will be greatly missed and cherished by those who knew him. The family would like to thank Envoy Hospice, which compassionately cared for him and his wife during this time, especially his nurse, Teresa White Bear. He was preceded in death by his son, Dudley Farrell Harris; and his parents, Bill and Cleo Berryhill. Survivors: Wife of 66 years, Alta Jean Harris; nephews, Robert and Nina Sampson, Jeffrey and Diane Fuller and Johnny Doyle Fuller; nieces, Jean and Wade Burris, Linda Jo and Bill James, Ann and Lannie Parker and Margie Nell McIntyre; aunt, Marie Cunningham; and sister-in-law, Marie Tucker.
