Frances Brogren Kennon Obituary
Frances Brogren Kennon, 89, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, in Round Rock. Memorial service: A private family service for Fran and I.G. Kennon will be held in the spring in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family prefers contributions to the National Audubon Society, www.audubon.org. Fran was born Dec. 25, 1923, on a farm near Round Rock to Simon and Agnes Brogren. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and taught school while her husband, I.G. Fran was active in her church and the United Methodist Women for many years and did volunteer work at Harris Hospital. She was an amateur artist and enjoyed painting in both oil and water colors, and participated in the General Dynamics art activities for a number of years. After I.G. retired, they traveled extensively on nature tours all over the world, from Barrow, Alaska, to the Antarctic peninsula. After many years of travel, they stayed comfortably in their Fort Worth home, enjoying visits from their children and grandchildren. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother, and she will be dearly missed.
