Robert "Bob" Linsteadt Obituary
Robert "Bob" Linsteadt, 80, passed away in Dallas on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014. Celebration of life: 11 a.m. Monday in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel in Ennis with the Rev. Steve Holston officiating. Interment: Myrtle Cemetery in Ennis. Visitation: 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Cancer Memorial Fund, 602 Creekwood Ct., Ennis, Texas 75119. Bob was born in Denison on May 4, 1933 to Lloyd A. and Pauline Blythe Linsteadt. He grew up in Denison and graduated from Denison High School. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy during the Korean War. On May 28, 1982, he married Marilyn Boon and they made their home in Ennis. Bob had lived in Hurst from 1955 until 1977. He worked for General Dynamics for over 18 years as an electronics specialist and for over 28 years as president of Price Industries. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Ennis and the Optimist Club in Hurst. Along with his brother, he was a founding member of the Mid-Cities PeeWee Football Association and served several terms as association president. He was very involved in Mid-Cities sports activities, including coaching football, softball, basketball and track. He also served as referee for the association. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, L.A. Linsteadt. Survivors: His wife, Marilyn Linsteadt of Ennis; sons, Bobby Linsteadt and wife, Vilma, of San Diego, Calif., Jeff Linsteadt and wife, Karen, of Plano and Kirby Crow and wife, Belinda, of Ennis; daughters, Leah West and husband, Randy, of Savannah, Ga., Laurie Mangham and husband, Asa, of Newnan, Ga., and Cindy Crow and Buddy Boyd of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and sister, Margaret Posey of North Richland Hills.
